Chef Melanie’s Weekly Recipe: Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies:choccookies1

6 oz. Brown Sugar

9 oz. Granulated Sugar

12 oz Butter (3 sticks)

1 teaspoon Vanilla

2 large eggs

Pinch of salt

2 Teaspoons Baking Soda

1 Lb. All purpose Flour

1 Lb. Chocolate Chips

1.       Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

2.       Sift dry ingredients in separate bowl

3.       Add eggs one at a time to butter mixture

4.       Mix in dry ingredients until well incorporated.

5.       Fold in chocolate chips

6.       Roll dough into a cylinder and wrap in plastic. Chill  at least 2 hours or overnight

7.       Pre heat oven 350. Slice cookies into ½ inch slices and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.

8.       Bake 12 minutes or until light brown in upper third of oven.

9.       Cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container.

Chef’s note: weighing ingredients will always produce a more accurate result.
