Chef Melanie’s Weekly Recipe: Hot Apple Cider

ammciderMy Hot Apple Cider:

1 qt fresh cider

4 whole cloves

2 cinnamon sticks

1 orange rind

1 cup bourbon (I prefer makers mark)

Put all ingredients in a heavy pot except for the bourbon. Heat slowly until liquid comes to a simmer. Remove from heat and let sit 10 minutes. Strain liquid into a pitcher and add the bourbon. Serve in your favorite mug. Whipped cream can be added for a creamier drink. Serves  6. Great for a cold winter’s day!
