Chef Melanie Remembers: The Chef’s Credo !!!

To all the Chef’s out there, or the aspiring ones. The following is a credo given to me  a long time ago in culinary school from a French Chef . Of course a that time  had no right to follow any of it. Many years later I find myself following these words of the Credo….Hope you do too.!! if for nothing else it is good for a laugh.

The Chef’s Credo

Article I.            The Chef is right

Article II.           The Chef is always right

Article III.          Even without her toque (white hat) the Chef is the Chef

Article IV.          The Chef never sleeps, she rests

Article V.            The Chef never eats, she tastes

Article VI.          The Chef never drinks, she savors

Article VII.        The Chef is never absent, she is marketing

Article VIII.      The Chef is never late, she is delayed

Article IX.          The Chef never leaves her store, she is called away

Article X.            If the Chef cannot be found, call the church

Article XI.          In all cases, Article II prevails.

Article XII.        The Chef never imitates, there are no others!

Article XIII.      The Chef treats everyone alike except the inspectors  from the Guide Michelin.
